We are excited to have you join Pillar to Pou. To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants, please read through the following terms and conditions carefully.

general agreement

By entering Pillar to Pou (“the Event”), you acknowledge and accept these terms and conditions. You confirm that you meet all entry requirements and agree to follow event rules, safety instructions, and any guidance provided by officials. Failure to comply may result in disqualification.

who can enter?

  • Participants must meet the minimum age requirements for their chosen category.

  • Anyone under 18 years old must have parental or guardian consent to take part.

  • You are responsible for ensuring you are physically fit to participate. The organisers are not liable for any medical issues that may arise.

registration & entry fees

  • Entry Fees: All entry fees are non-refundable except as outlined in our cancellation policy.

  • Entries are transferable up until 11:59pm 30 May 2025 at a cost of $25.

  • Race Numbers: Your race number contains a timing chip and must be worn on your front at all times. Numbers must not be altered in any way.

event rules & course guidelines

  • Participants must follow the designated race route and adhere to course markings.

  • Relay Teams: Your timing strap, worn on the wrist or ankle, must be used as the baton and exchanged only at designated transition points.

  • No Unauthorized Equipment: Bikes, scooters, rollerblades, and other wheeled devices (excluding permitted wheelchairs) are not allowed.

  • No Pets: While dogs are welcome at the Two Mile Bay Sailing Club, they are not permitted on the course for safety reasons.

  • Participants must obey all instructions from race officials, marshalls, and safety personnel.

safety & medical support

  • Medical teams will be stationed along the course and at the finish line.

  • If you need assistance or cannot continue, notify an event official immediately.

  • In an emergency, you consent to receiving medical treatment as required.

assumption of risk

By participating, you acknowledge that endurance events come with inherent risks, including but not limited to injuries, accidents, or medical complications. You accept full responsibility for your participation.

liability waiver

You agree to release Pillar to Pou, event organisers, sponsors, volunteers, and associated parties from any claims related to personal injury, property damage, or financial loss resulting from your participation. All participants (or their parent/guardian, if under 18) will be required to accept the event waiver during the registration checkout process. Entry is not confirmed until the waiver has been agreed to.

event changes & cancellation policy

  • The organisers reserve the right to modify, reschedule, or cancel the event due to unforeseen circumstances, including extreme weather or safety concerns.

  • Credits or deferrals will be handled in accordance with the event’s official cancellation policy.

privacy & data protection

Your personal information will be collected and used solely for event administration and communication. We do not share your data with third parties without consent.

photography & media use

By entering, you give permission for photos and videos taken during the event to be used for promotional purposes. If you prefer not to be featured, please inform the organisers in advance.

governing law

These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of New Zealand. Any disputes shall be resolved under NZ jurisdiction.
